Report claims shock La Liga favourites for Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez wants to leave Arsenal in the summer and return to Spain, according to reports.

Speculation has been rife over the future of the Chilean at the Emirates Stadium, with the Gunners unable to come to an agreement over a new contract.

Sanchez’s contract runs out at the end of the 2017/18 season and a resolution doesn’t seem to be any nearer, with reports previously claiming that he and Mesut Ozil were looking for parity with some of the Premier League’s biggest earners.

The Daily Star claims that Alexis Sanchez has decided he will definitely leave the club this summer with Sevilla emerging as the shock favourites to land the forward.

Sanchez is understood to be a big fan of the La Liga side’s boss Jorge Sampaoli, who coached Sanchez in his previous role as Chile national team manager.

The Gunners aren’t helping their case for keeping a player of Sanchez’s ability with an extremely likely exit from the Champions League on the horizon – losing the first leg 5-1 to Bayern Munich – and a title collapse that sees them trail leaders Chelsea by 13 points.

Atletico Madrid, who are hoping to reduce their transfer ban to allow them to sign players in the summer, are also thought to be interested in the 28-year-old.

Other options could come in the form of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus or a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League with Sanchez understood to want out even if Arsene Wenger stays on.
