Inter Milan will reportedly go all out to snatch Antonio Conte from Chelsea this summer, with current boss Stefano Pioli set to lose his job.
Saturday evening’s 5-4 defeat to Fiorentina in Tuscany was said to be the last straw, with Pioli himself admitting that Inter had hit “rock-bottom”.
The defeat left Inter in seventh place in the Serie A table and struggling to secure European football for next season.
Calciomercato.com’s Pasquale Guarro has revealed that the club’s owners, The Suning Group, have decided that they want Conte at all costs and sources close to the Italian tactician have stated that he has told close friends that he’s still undecided about his future.
Conte is on the brink of guiding the Blues to a league and cup double in his first season, with his side four points clear of Spurs at the top of the Premier League table and through to the FA Cup final.
The report claims that Suning are about to make their move by giving Conte an ultimatum to make his mind up before the end of the current season.
The Chinese power brokers want to start planning transfer targets for the next campaign but are after assurances over who will manage the club first.
If they fail in a bid for Conte then current Roma boss Luciano Spalletti is rumoured to be an alternative option.
