Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has talked to Everton striker Romelu Lukaku about his potential return to Stamford Bridge, according to reports in Italy.
Lukaku struggled for playing time at Chelsea and he was subsequently loaned out to West Brom and the Toffees before the latter bought him for a club record £28million in 2014.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the Premier League champions have contacted Lukaku’s representatives to begin talks over a return to Stamford Bridge.
The report continues by suggesting that a £70million fee is likely to be agreed for the striker’s services once the two clubs have met.
Furthermore, Courtois has reportedly been in touch with his Belgium team-mate to discuss a move following an impressive season for Lukaku that has seen him net 24 goals in 36 Premier League appearances.
Antonio Conte is rumoured to be keen on signing Lukaku, while Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has also been linked with the 24-year-old.
