Manchester United have included a trio of returning stars in their 21-man squad to face Fenerbahce on Thursday.
Of the players to be included, it is Henrikh Mkhitaryan whose name will grab the headlines: the player joined United from Borussia Dortmund in the summer for £26.3million, but has found playing opportunities difficult to come by under Jose Mourinho.
The Armenian has started just one game so far – the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in which he was substituted at half-time – and has even taking to training on his days off in order to impress Jose Mourinho.
He could feature against Fenerbahce in midweek however, after being named alongside Phil Jones and Anthony Martial in the squad for Thursday’s game.
Michael Carrick, Memphis Depay and Antonio Valencia are the notable absentees, as well as Bastian Schweinsteiger, who returned to first-team training this week.
United will travel to Turkey to face Fenerbahce, with Jose Mourinho’s side currently sat second in Group A.
They opened their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to current leaders Feyenoord, but have secured back-to-back victories over Zorya Luhansk and Fenerbahce at Old Trafford to get their campaign back on track.
Squad in full: De Gea, Romero, Johnstone; Blind, Jones, Darmian, Fosu-Mensah, Rojo, Shaw; Fellaini, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Mata, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Young; Ibrahimovic, Martial, Rashford, Rooney.
