Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be the answer to Arsenal’s problems, according to Rio Ferdinand.
The 34-year-old frontman scored the first and set up PSG’s second as the Ligue 1 outfit bundled Chelsea out of the Champions League on Wednesday and Ferdinand says the Swedish star can still perform at the top level.
Ibrahimovic killed off the tie and displayed a “winning mentality” which Arsenal have been missing and Ferdinand is in no doubt that the Gunners and other Premier League clubs should be chasing the striker at the end of the season.
“He showed today that even at 34, English clubs should be looking at him as a free transfer,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“This game was decided by clinical play and he [Ibrahimovic] was at the centre of that. He basically ended the tie.”
Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with a summer move to the Premier League when his contract runs out in the summer and Ferdinand says he would be a perfect signing for Arsene Wenger.
“He would give them [Arsenal] that winning mentality.
“He can be the catalyst to winning things because that’s what he does,” added Ferdinand.
Ibrahimovic has scored 33 goals in 40 appearances for club and country, as well as 13 assists.
