Rio Ferdinand says Manchester United should sign Wales star Gareth Bale and France forward Antoine Griezmann this summer.
Bale, 27, was linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier in the season, but the talk ended after the Real Madrid star put pen to paper on a new deal earlier this season to remain at the Bernabeu until 2022.
And former United captain Ferdinand believes Jose Mourinho should flex his financial muscles to secure the services of the Wales talisman – as well as signing up Atletico Madrid’s Griezmann.
When asked by Squawka which of the two United should sign, Ferdinand said: “Manchester United have got the money, I’d go get both.
“They’re great players but I don’t think they’re comparable to be honest. They’re different players.
“Gareth could play anywhere across the front-line. He’d be effective anywhere – from the right to the left, central.
“Griezmann obviously [would play] as the number nine, but right now might be too early. (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic is banging in goals.
“If they became available, Manchester United have to be in that.”
