Serie A outfit Roma are interested in Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini, according to reports in Italy.

The Belgium star watched the Giallorossi defeat Napoli 1-0 at Stadio Olimpico on Monday and, according to Gazzetta dello Sport Roma are interested in thrashing out a deal for Fellaini.

The Italian publication claim that Roma are prepared to offer £15million for the former Everton man as the Italians look to replace Radja Nainggolan, who has been heavily linked with a summer move to Chelsea.

Nainggolan, who is a fellow countryman of Fellaini’s, went out to dinner with Fellaini, Miralem Pjanic and Salih Ucan after the game, according to Gazzetta.

Fellaini, who signed from Everton for £27.5million in September 2013, has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford, but he impressed in the weekend’s FA Cup semi-final win over Everton and Louis van Gaal last month praised the midfielder.

“Fellaini has his way of playing and he can give us a lot of qualities. He has contributed to a lot of games in a very good way,” said Van Gaal.

However, United are still expected to offload the 28-year-old, who was rumoured to be a target for AC Milan in February, in the summer if they can recoup around half of their outlay for him.
