Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the three names he wants Real Madrid to sign in a bid to save their flagging season.
The La Liga giants are already eight points off Barcelona in the title race, although they have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League – albeit from a group that was won by Tottenham.
Ronaldo has had his own struggles this season, scoring just twice in nine La Liga matches although he has been more like his old self in Europe with eight in five games.
The Portugal star was very critical of the club’s decision to let experienced back up stars Pepe, Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez leave in the summer and according to reports in Spain he has issued Real president Florentino Perez with the list of names he wants the club to sign.
Diario Gol claims that Portuguese youngster Goncalo Guedes, PSG defender Marquinhos and a new goalkeeper, Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa, have all been mentioned by Ronaldo.
Kepa, who recently won his first Spain cap, is out of contract at San Mames and looks likely to join in the summer on a free transfer, while Real would also have to wait until the end of the season to land Guedes – a young PSG winger who is currently on loan at Valencia.
Guedes, 21, has made a big impression at the Mestalla and has the same agent as Ronaldo in Jorge Mendes.
Brazil star Marquinhos is regarded as one of the best central defenders in European football but it will likely take a huge transfer fee to lure him to Spain, with the 23-year-old under contract in Paris until 2022.
With the potential arrival of Marquinhos unlikely, it has been reported that Real are in talks to land fellow Brazilian David Luiz from Chelsea.
The Blues star has fallen out of favour with Blues boss Antonio Conte and could be allowed to leave in January.
