Southampton are ready to splash out £20million and beat several other Premier League clubs to the signing of Lille attacker Sofiane Boufal.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Saints are prepared to eclipse the £15million they ultimately wasted on Dani Osvaldo three years ago to address the departures of Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle.
Chelsea, Tottenham and Watford have all been closely monitoring the Moroccan, who can play just behind the striker or out wide. However, it appears the Saints have beaten their rivals to his signature despite him being injured and unavailable for action until at least the middle of next month.
Before knee surgery ended his season early last year, Boufal scored 11 times and assisted in five goals for Lille and has also clinched the Best African Player in Ligue 1 award.
