Sako considering Wolves future

The Wolves forward is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to leave Molineux after three years.

Kenny Jackett’s side missed out on the Sky Bet Championship play-offs on goal difference after Saturday’s final day 4-2 win over Millwall.

Aston Villa and West Brom are understood to be interested in the Mali international, who will now consider his future.

“I have been pleased with my season but I was really sad too because I don’t know what I’m going to do during the summer,” he said.

“I had mixed feelings – pleased with my season but disappointed to miss out on the play-offs.

“I don’t know what happens now but I’m not thinking about it at the moment because my season isn’t finished.

“I’ve got to play some games for Mali and so we’ll see after that.

“I have some offers from the Premier League and some from abroad, but I want to play in the Premier League.

“I have offers from abroad but I’m not looking at them at the moment – I want to play in England.”

Wolves finished seventh in their first season back following promotion from Sky Bet League One last year and Sako felt they were unlucky to miss out on the play-offs.

“We tried our best to get into the play-offs so it was disappointing not to get in there,” he told the club’s official site.

“We dropped points over the season but we did our best and we’re very unlucky.

“I tried to do my best in the last game of the season.

“I was lucky in that I scored and I got two assists so that was good for me as well and the team.”
