Liverpool new boy Mohamed Salah has been granted a visa and he is now eligible to play for Liverpool with immediate effect.

Salah was missing from last night’s 4-0 friendly win over Tranmere because his international clearance had not been rubber-stamped. The Egypt winger had to leave the country while the paperwork was readied and he was pictured in Paris after attending the British Embassy in the French capital.

The 25-year-old’s visa has now been ratified meaning he could face Wigan Athletic on Friday at the DW Stadium.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking about the player’s absence against Tranmere said: “Mo Salah is here in training but cannot play because of the rules, so that’s what we have to accept.

“We will try to get the working permission or the visa.

“I’m not sure what it is we need to get but we have to go to Paris and leave him there for a day or two and then he’ll come back.We are hopeful he can play soon.”

Liverpool signed Salah for a club-record £36.9million from Roma last month.
