The agent of Roma forward Antonio Sanabria claims there has been “some contact” with Tottenham Hotspur.
Reports earlier this week claimed Spurs had agreed terms for the 20-year-old Paraguay international, who scored 11 La Liga goals on loan at Sporting Gijon last season.
And although that report may be too far down the line, the £11.5million-rated forward is definitely on the radar of Mauricio Pochettino, who could view Sanabria as a better value signing than £30million pair Alexandre Lacazette and Michy Batshuayi.
Raul Verdu told Tuttomercatoweb: “I’m speaking generally. There has been some contact, but we’ll have to evaluate with Roma.
“Right now the lad belongs to the Giallorossi and I’ll speak with [sporting director Walter] Sabatini to decide how to move.
“At the moment there’s nothing concrete on Sanabria’s future, we’ll see if there’s news next week.”
The player is allegedly valued at £11.5m – the same price Spurs paid for Wanyama – and a deal appears to be getting closer after Sanabria’s agent confirmed there had been initial talks with the north London outfit.
