Morgan Schneiderlin says he has never before experienced a managerial approach like that of “strict” Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.
Schneiderlin joined United in the summer after seven years at Southampton, during which time he worked under eight different managers. The midfielder previously played in France for Strasbourg but says Van Gaal’s regime is completely new to him.
“Van Gaal is a very strict coach,” he told Telefoot. “It’s a new management approach, one I haven’t experienced before. You have to adapt because a lot of things have changed.”
Schneiderlin is thoroughly enjoying his time at Old Trafford, however, adding: “Manchester United are the greatest club in the world. You can see it in the enthusiasm among fans when we play a game.”
Schneiderlin’s fellow Frenchman Anthony Martial, meanwhile, is not worried about the expectations on his shoulders following his £36million move from Monaco.
“I know the fans expect a lot from me because of my price tag,” he said. “But I’ll do everything so they can be proud of me.”
