There have been offers from the Premier League for Sassuolo striker Gregoire Defrel, according to the Serie A club.
Liverpool and Leicester are believed to be tracking the 25-year-old and according to the Italian club’s director general there have been firm bids for the highly-regarded forward.
The French striker has scored six goals in 13 Serie A appearances so far this term with his team in 16th spot and his form has attracted the interest of Napoli, who are believed to be preparing a January bid.
Defrel impressed against Napoli in the 1-1 draw between Napoli and Sassuolo on Wednesday night and scored the equaliser from the bench to deny the hosts in Naples.
But Sassuolo director general Giovanni Carnevali insists they are yet to receive an approach from within Italy – but offers have come in from both England and Spain.
Carnevali told Radio Goal: “It’s not our intention to sell him, especially in January. The winter market is for making improvements.
“We haven’t had any official offer from Napoli, never mind one which would please us. I can tell you that he’s very well-liked by foreign clubs.
“There have been offers from the Premier League and La Liga.”
Chelsea, Arsenal, Sunderland and Newcastle are also believed to be tracking Defrel, who can play all across the front line, and their scouts all watched the player in action against Genk in the Europa League in September.
