Joe Allen: Happy to make Stoke move

Sevilla are said to have pulled out of the race for Joe Allen after being scared off by Liverpool’s valuation of the midfielder.

Allen is preparing with Wales for tonight’s Euro 2016 semi-final clash against Portugal and the 26-year-old’s form in France has seen Liverpool up their asking price to £14million.

According to Estadio Deportivo, that valuation rules Europa League winners Sevilla out of the hunt for the former Swansea star.

The La Liga side were reported to have identified Allen as a potential replacement for Ever Banega, who joined Inter Milan as a free agent.

Swansea saw an £8million offer rejected earlier in the summer for the central midfielder who made only eight starts in the Premier League last season.

Sevilla sporting director Monchi has said: “Ganso and Allen aren’t the only players that fit in our plans.

“They are on our list and they comply with the profile that we are searching for.”
