Luke Shaw has targeted a return to action at Manchester United before the end of the season amid reports he will be back in training next month following his double leg fracture.
The Daily Telegraph claim that the left-back ‘is continuing to make good progress in his rehabilitation at Carrington and a first-team return in the final weeks has not been ruled out’.
The full-back suffered the injury in United’s costly 2-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in September and was expected to be sidelined for a minimum of six months after undergoing surgery.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal named Shaw in his Europa League squad in January despite his double leg fracture in September; the final is on May 18 in Basel.
England manager Roy Hodgson has hinted that Shaw could still go to Euro 2016 with England, though ‘it is thought unlikely at this stage that the left-back will be fully fit for international duty’.
He was invited to a squad get-together last month but opted to remain at Carrington and continue his rehabilitation.
