Sheffield Wednesday pour cold water on Adebayor transfer talk
Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal has denied reports linking the Owls for a move for former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Togo forward – without a club since his release by Spurs earlier this year – has been linked with moves to West Ham and Watford among others, with Hornets boss Quique Sanchez Flores admitting he’d welcome a player of his calibre to Vicarage Road.
But reports this week have suggested the ambitious Championship club could be another destination, but Owls boss Carvalhal said: “It’s nothing more than a rumour.
“I won’t comment on rumours today or tomorrow.”
Speaking to the Sheffield Telegraph, he added: “I have never heard about the possibility of Adebayor coming here. He is a fantastic player but we have never talked about this.”
