Sissoko has consistently made it clear he would like to play in Europe’s premier competition, admitting it would be a “dream” to play for Arsenal, but the France midfielder is wary of moving clubs ahead of next summer’s Euro Championship.
“Didier Deschamps clearly told us that he will only be choosing players who are regularly playing (at their clubs),” Sissoko told Le Parisien. “With one year to go until the Euros, you cannot change club and find yourself on the bench.
“At the same time, I want to play for one of the biggest clubs and I would notably like to play in the Champions League, something I cannot do at Newcastle.
“One day or another, my hour will come. In any case, I see myself staying in England.”
