The Brewers, who secured the League Two title on Saturday with victory at Cambridge, have wasted little time in preparing for life in the third tier next season.

Winger Jimmy Phillips, striker Mickael Antoine-Curier, midfielders Joe Doyle and Lee Bell plus defenders Ian Sharps and Stefan Maletic have all departed the Pirelli Stadium following the expiry of their contracts.

Five players drafted in on loan during the club’s title-winning season – Scott Shearer (Crewe), Jack Dunn, Kevin Stewart (both Liverpool), Florent Cuvelier (Sheffield United) and Tom Naylor (Derby) – have all returned to their parent clubs.
