John Terry: Chelsea skipper still has a part to play

The world of tennis, Formula One, football and Cricket will all join in the national minute’s silence at midday.

Wimbledon organisers confirmed that tennis matches will start later than normal to ensure players, staff and spectators can pay their respects to the 38 people, including 30 Britons, who were killed by a gunman on a Tunisian beach a week ago.

Formula One teams will also fall silent at Silverstone ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix while players from Australia and Essex will observe the silence during the tour match in Chelmsford.

Walsall football club will also hold their own tribute after three of their supporters lost their lives in the gun attack in Sousse.

The scheduled race at Henley Regatta has also been put back until after the silence is over.
