Spurs ratings: Eriksen shows signs of old; Winks impresses

Mark Scott
Christian Eriksen: Star of the Tottenham show

Christian Eriksen: Barcelona talk played down

Tottenham booked their place in the Europa League with midfielders Christian Eriksen and Harry Winks really catching the eye at Wembley.

TOTTENHAM

HUGO LLORIS: Not at fault for the CSKA Moscow goal, but had to be alert on a couple of occasions to stop Tottenham’s Wembley nightmare from continuing 6

KYLE WALKER: Very aggressive and attack-minded as per usual and his crossing was a lot better than it usually is 7

ERIC DIER: Failed to track Dzagoev for CSKA Moscow’s opener and must be looking forward to returning to midfield with Toby Alderweireld close to full fitness 5

JAN VERTONGHEN: Beaten far too easily by Tosic who ran rings round him before playing through the unmarked Dzagoev. High defensive line left him exposed at times 5

DANNY ROSE: Great weight and precision on the pass for Kane’s simple tap-in. Picked his moments a little more wisely than Walker 7

HARRY WINKS: Another strong showing from the academy product. Very neat and tidy on the ball and good at finding space with sharp turns 8

VICTOR WANYAMA: Not his most dominant midfield performance. Was caught in possession in dangerous areas which could have been punished by a better attacking side 6

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN: Has really been going through the motions this season but another encouraging display from the Dane at Wembley. His threaded passes in particular the CSKA Moscow defence plenty of problems 9

DELE ALLI: Wasted a few early chances before finally ending his Tottenham goal drought with a lovely finish. Was eager to get involved and appears to have his edge back 7

SON HEUNG-MIN: Wasteful in possession but did try hard to make something happen and his efforts were rightly acknowledged by the Tottenham fans before heading off 6

HARRY KANE: At the heart of many Tottenham attacks, including a fine cross for the third goal, and was in the perfect place to tap home the second 7

SUBSTITUTIONS

GEORGES-KEVIN N’KOUDOU (on for Son 60′): His only major contribution was a wild, wild shot shortly after coming on 6

TOBY ALDERWEIRELD (on for Wanyama 68′): A very welcome sight for Tottenham fans after two months out. Showed his great passing range and was a threat in the air 6

JOSHUA ONOMAH (on for Kane 83′) : Nothing more than brief cameo 6
