Tottenham are reportedly set to offer Andros Townsend in exchange for Saido Berahino but fear Chelsea will reject a loan approach for Loic Remy.
Spurs are interested in Remy, according to the Sunday People, but believe there is little chance of Chelsea sanctioning a move to White Hart Lane with them flying high in the Premier League.
It leaves Berahino once again top of Mauricio Pochettino’s wish list, but the newspaper claims West Brom’s £25million-plus valuation of the England Under-21 striker is still seen as unrealistic by the Spurs hierarchy.
Albion have an interest in Townsend but are said to believe his £12million price tag is too hefty, making for what are likely to be more difficult negotiations between the two clubs if they look to agree a swap deal.
Townsend is prepared to leave Spurs on loan, according to the Daily Star, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy wants cash – or his inclusion in a deal for Berahino.
However, Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Stoke City have all been mentioned as potential suitors for the 22-year-old.
