Liverpool: Celebrate James Milner's winner against Swansea City

Midfielder Croft was offered the suspension after the Scottish Football Association examined television footage of the incident during the Saints’ 2-1 victory and charged the 29-year-old with “committing an act of serious foul play”.

A principal hearing was set for Thursday, but on Wednesday St Johnstone’s tweeted on their official Twitter account: “Club won’t contest two match ban for @croft7.”

Croft’s two-game suspension will see him miss the Scottish Premiership visit to St Mirren on Saturday and the Scottish Cup holders’ last-16 tie against Queen of the South in February.
