Leeds defender Milne agreed to join Quakers last week but the move has been delayed. If the 19-year-old is handed a debut he will be the 40th player to appear for Darlington this season.
The league’s bottom club will be without skipper Steve Foster, sidelined by Staunton as the terms of his contract dictate the central defender would automatically be awarded a one-year extension once he reaches 20 appearances.
Staunton made five changes for the heavy midweek defeat at Notts County and must decide whether to retain goalkeeper Ashlee Jones, who made his debut, or recall Nick Liversedge.
Teenage defender Corey Barnes, Nathan Mulligan and David Davis were also dropped on Tuesday night and will be hoping for recalls.
