Stoke boss Mark Hughes has effectively ruled out Marc Wilson for the remainder of the season due to a knee injury sustained in the FA Cup defeat at Crystal Palace.
Wilson faces at least two and a half months on the sidelines after suffering the injury in the club’s 1-0 reverse at Selhurst Park.
“It’s not a cruciate ligament injury thankfully but it’s the medial, so it’ll be 10-12 weeks, so it’s significant,” Hughes said.
“It’ll near-on rule him out for the season now but hopefully he’ll get back.
“It’s one you have to manage correctly which we always do and it should be straightforward in terms of recovery.
“Luckily it’s not a cruciate which we feared when it happened.”
