Stoke City, Southampton and Leicester City are all reported to be considering January approaches for Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen.
Allen has failed to live up to expectations since his £15million move from Swansea City in July 2012 and was substituted at half-time by Jurgen Klopp in Thursday’s Europa League draw against Rubin Kazan.
According to the Daily Star Sunday, at least three Premier League clubs are likely to enquire about the 25-year-old if he cannot nail down a place in Klopp’s team, while Allen himself, it is said, would like to return to Swansea.
Both Stoke boss Mark Hughes and Saints supremo Ronald Koeman are admirers of Allen, according to the tabloid, while Claudio Ranieri is apparently still looking to strengthen his options in midfield.
Brendan Rodgers could also attempt to sign Allen again if he secures a quick return to management, with the Northern Irishman linked with the Aston Villa job following the sacking of Tim Sherwood on Sunday.
