Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has hailed the performances of Liverpool this season and has labelled Jurgen Klopp’s side as the side most likely to prevent Chelsea from winning the Premier League title.
Klopp’s side are currently five point adrift of the Blues in second place, having won 44 points from 20 games.
The Reds sit in second, five points behind Chelsea, who have a game in hand, and two ahead of third-placed Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have scored at least four more league goals than any other side, and while Neville believes the defence could prove a problem, the Manchester United legend is impressed with the side.
“The job that Jurgen Klopp is doing there is outstanding,” he told Sky Sports. “The one thing I would question is defensively, whether they can go and get the ultimate prize.
“But the improvement is there for all to see. They totally typify their manager in terms of what he demands and wants.
“You look at Liverpool now, with that energy in (Adam) Lallana and (Philippe) Coutinho and (Sadio) Mane and (Gini) Wijnaldum and so on, it’s a really good front six or seven they have to pick from.
“Can they do it? I think they’re the best challenger to Chelsea. The programme I think will allow them to prepare for games.
“I think that team would suffer if they were playing Thursday-Sunday.”
