Riyad Mahrez: Can score again for Leicester City at Liverpool

Riyad Mahrez: Can score again for Leicester City at Liverpool

Dave Tindall is tipping Riyad Mahrez and Odion Ighalo to continue their goalscoring heroics and bank more profits this weekend.

The weekly column successfully returned a 50/1 acca last month and secured more profits with three winning selections (11/4 Mahrez, 5/2 Ighalo and 9/5 McCormack) out of six last week.

Premier League Top Scorers

15 Jamie Vardy (Leicester) Last 6 in all comps: 0-1-0-1-1-1 = 4

13 Romelu Lukaku (Everton) Last 6 games: 1-1-1-1-1-2 = 7

13 Riyad Mahrez (Leicester) Last 6 games: 2-1-3-0-0-0 = 6

12 Odion Ighalo (Watford) Last 6 games: 2-1-1-1-0-0 = 5

10 Olivier Giroud (Arsenal) Last 6 games: 1-1-3-1-0-0 = 6

Analysis: We cashed in on Riyad Mahrez at 11/4 against Everton last week and the Leicester man has to be worth following again for his quickfire return to Merseyside.

With Liverpool depleted in central defence and going through a poor spell, the Foxes must be licking their lips and Mahrez’s confidence is through the roof after six goals in his last three games, five of those on the road. Back him to net again at 12/5.

Southampton are struggling so Olivier Giroud has another good chance to keep his hot-streak going when Arsenal visit St. Mary’s. The 29/20 looks fair for the Frenchman.

Odion Ighalo has netted in his last four games and is a ridiculous price (10/3) to score at Chelsea, who have a terrible defensive record this season. Don’t miss it!

Best bets:

Riyad Mahrez to score anytime v Liverpool at 12/5 (bet365)
Olivier Giroud to score anytime v Southampton at 29/20 (Bet Victor)
Odion Ighalo to score anytime v Chelsea at 10/3 (Sky Bet)

Championship Top Scorers

12 Andre Gray (Burnley) Last 6 games: 1-0-0-0-0-1 = 2

12 Ross McCormack (Fulham) Last 6 games: 1-1-0-0-1-0 = 3

10 Charlie Austin (QPR) Last 6 games: 2-0-0-1-0-0 = 3

10 Nick Blackman (Reading) Last 6 games: 0-1-0-0-0-0 = 1

10 Alan Judge (Brentford) Last 6 games: 2-0-1-1-0-0 = 4

Analysis: Alan Judge entered the top scorer charts after his double against Huddersfield and now has 10 goals and seven assists for Brentford this season.

He’s relishing the extra freedom of the number 10 role and has to be followed after scoring four in his last four.

Brentford host a Brighton side which has shipped nine goals in its last four games so Judge is a huge price at 4/1 to find the onion bag again.

The other appealing price is Ross McCormack at 11/4 to net against Derby. The Fulham striker has rewarded anytime goalscorer punters in his last two games, although the Rams’ strong defensive record (13 conceded in 22 games) makes Judge the better bet.

Best bets:

Alan Judge to score anytime v Brighton at 4/1 (Paddy Power)

League One Top Scorers

13 Adam Armstrong (Coventry) Last 6 games: 0-0-1-0-0-2 = 3

10 Paddy Madden (Scunthorpe) Last 6 games: 0-0-0-0-0-1 = 1

10 Leon Clarke (Bury) Last 6 games: 1-0-0-1-0-1 = 3

9 Tom Bradshaw (Walsall) Last 6 games: 0-1-1-1-0-0 = 3

Nicky Ajose (Swindon) Last 6 games: 1-0-2-0-1-1 = 5

Bradley Dack (Gillingham) Last 6 games: 1-0-0-1-1-0 = 3

Billy Sharp (Sheffield United) Last 6 games: 1-1-0-0-0-0 = 2

Analysis: Swindon’s Nicky Ajose has scored in seven of his last 10 games, including the winner against Shrewsbury last week. Visitors Gillingham sit third in the table, but they let in plenty on the road (17 in 11 games is the same as second-bottom Crewe) so Ajose offers real value at 11/5.

Billy Sharp has found some form after a barren patch (none in his previous eight) and isn’t the worst bet at 2/1, but Ajose is definitely the standout wager in League One this weekend.

A safer punt is the 6/4 for Leon Clarke scoring at home for Bury against a Barnsley side which has conceded 25 away goals.

Best bet:

Nicky Ajose to score v Gillingham at 11/5 (Paddy Power)

League Two Top Scorers

16 Jay Simpson (Leyton Orient) Last 6 games: 0-0-1-1-1-2 = 5

13 Matty Taylor (Bristol Rovers) Last 6 games: 0-1-3-0-1-1 = 6

12 Jabo Ibehre (Carlisle) Last 6 games: 2-0-0-1-1-0 = 4

10 Barry Corr (Cambridge) Last 6 games: 0-0-0-1-0-1 = 2

10 Marc Richards (Northampton) Last 6 games: 0-1-0-1-0-0 = 2

10 Josh Windass (Accrington) Last 6 games: 0-0-1-1-0-1 = 3

Analysis: The only one of the division’s top scorers to add to his tally last weekend was Jabo Ibehre, who netted a brace in Carlisle’s 3-0 victory over Notts County. The in-form Cumbrians are up to fifth ahead of their trip to Accrington and the hosts don’t exactly have a mean defence at home having conceded 15 times in nine games. Ibhere is worth a play at 15/8.

Best bets:

Jabo Ihere to score anytime v Accrington at 15/8 (bet365)

Best-priced goalscorer acca (one from each division):

Mahrez, Judge, Ajose & Ibehre at 128/1 (Paddy Power)
