Luis Suarez: Open to a Liverpool return

Barcelona superstar Luis Suarez admits he has missed Liverpool’s fans and claims he would be open to a return to Anfield.

The 29-year-old forward has been in fine form for Barca and has scored 29 goals already this term and although he is happy with life in Catalonia he has left the door open on a sensational return to the Premier League and Liverpool.

The Uruguay frontman spent three-and-a-half years at Liverpool before leaving for Barcelona for £75million in the summer of 2014 and has admitted the “incredible atmosphere” is one of the things he misses.

“You never know what will happen in the future,” Suarez said in an interview with ESPN.

“If I was to return to England, it would be to play for Liverpool – not for any other team.

“I’ve missed the fans. The atmosphere is incredible, it’s incredible.

“Everyone who has played for Liverpool knows how important the fans are – they know they will always be in my heart.”

Suarez, who was sold whilst serving a four-month or biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup, signed a five-year deal with Barca in July 2014.

Former Ajax star Suarez was the Premier League top scorer and winner of the PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year awards in his final season at Anfield and had four years remaining on his deal before he left for Spain.
