Luis Suarez has revealed his thoughts on the recent speculation linking Neymar with Real Madrid.
The pair were team-mates at Barcelona until the summer when Neymar decided to leave Catalonia to move, on world-record €222million fee, to Paris on a contract until 2022.
Neymar has scored 15 goals in 16 games for PSG, but he has been at loggerheads with Edinson Cavani and, according to reports he has not settled in the French capital.
That has led to speculation linking the Brazilian with a return to La Liga, and a controversial switch to the Catalan club’s bitter rivals, Real Madrid.
There have been suggestions that Neymar’s move to PSG was only to facilitate a transfer to Real Madrid, Suarez though is not so sure.
“Not at all,” Suarez told Marca . “Honestly, I do not see it.
“I know how Neymar is and the admiration he had for Barcelona and his team-mates. I do not see him now going to play for Real Madrid.”
Suarez, who alongside Neymar and Lionel Messi was part of the MSN triumvirate, also defended the Brazilian for leaving Barca.
“Ney is a mature person and was fully aware of the decision he made,” Suarez added.
“Obviously he did it with a lot of pain, because he was happy here. But we all have to accept that he had other challenges and that he wanted to take them on.
“It was an understandable decision that he took with his family. There is no reproach, just admiration and pure love for everything that he has given the club and the relationship we had throughout those years.”
