Surprise suitor to rival Tottenham, Man Utd for Celtic attacker

Brighton boss Chris Hughton is reportedly interested in trying to sign Celtic star Moussa Dembele.

The France youth star, who was strongly linked with summer moves to Tottenham and Manchester United, has been a revelation since moving to Scotland from Fulham in 2016.

The 21-year-old has scored 40 goals in 65 games for the Glasgow giants, after the Bhoys paid just £400,000 to take him to Celtic Park, although he has been hit by injuries this campaign.

His prolific form has once again led to speculation that he could be on the move in January and according to the Daily Mail, Brighton are considering a £20million for the player.

Celtic, however, want closer to £30m – a figure which put both Spurs and United off during the summer.

Brighton are in desperate need of another goalscoring option, with frontman Glenn Murray their current top scorer with just five.

Both Manchester United and Spurs have been linked with Dembele since last summer, although they were put off by his high price-tag.
