The visitors had the home side at full stretch for long periods but the Cumbrians bravely earned a point.

Carlisle applied the early pressure but the visitors soon demonstrated their trickery when Febian Brandy’s shot was blocked. Robinson then saw a 30-yard free kick clip the bar.

Carlisle almost grabbed a goal when Danny Graham was fed by Marc Bridge-Wilkinson but pulled his shot wide.

Four minutes into the second half Robinson hit the bar again with a delicate free-kick.

Carlisle continued to soak up pressure and almost grabbed a goal themselves in the 69th-minutes but Simon Hackney’s shot was saved. Robinson hit the woodwork for a third time after 80 minutes as the game drew to a close.
