Fernando Llorente: Swansea will fight to keep him

Fernando Llorente has spoken about Chelsea’s reported interest in the striker over the course of the January transfer window.

The Swansea striker was heavily tipped to join forces with Antonio Conte once again and become Chelsea’s back-up striker behind main Diego Costa.

However, the move failed to materialise for the Spaniard, who will instead try and guide the Swansea to Premier League safety.

“Of course, I’ve known Conte for a long time now and I enjoyed playing under him at Juventus,” Llorente told Marca.

“However, with so many commitments coming so close together and with the difficulties of the January transfer window, I knew I would not be allowed to leave.”
