Charlie Daniels: Commits to new three-year deal

Bournemouth defender Charlie Daniels has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract, the Premier League club have announced.

Left-back Daniels joined the Cherries from Leyton Orient in 2012, and has impressed in their debut Premier League campaign with 25 starts.

Manager Eddie Howe feels the 29-year-old, who started out at Tottenham, deserves a lot of credit for the way he has settled into regular top-flight football.

“He has really elevated his game to a new level this season, that is not easy when you take into consideration the kind of wingers he is coming up against every week,” Howe said on the club’s official website.

“But he has been at his peak physically and I believe that has really helped him. He deserves this new contract.”

Daniels is determined to continue his development. He said to Cherries Player HD: “I feel as though I’m playing my best football now.

“Playing in the Premier League is what I’ve always wanted to do and I need to keep working hard to keep improving.”

“It’s been a great journey and build up from League One and I’m really looking forward to helping us to go on even further.”
