The 5 men Perez wants to breathe life back into Real Madrid

Florentino Perez has short-listed five players he wants to sign to inject some impetus back into Real Madrid.

The La Liga champions and Champions League holders have had a shocking start to their league season and have lost twice already in 12 games and sit 10 points behind their rivals and leaders Barcelona.

Zinedine Zidane has been struggling to get his side into the type of form which saw them claim 93 points and lose just three games last term, en-route to the league title.

Zidane lost Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez in the summer and his only arrivals were defenders Theo Hernandez and Achraf Akimi and midfielder Dani Ceballos.

The Frenchman admitted earlier in the season that his squad was a striker light and he was not keen on allowing Morata leave for Chelsea. Now though his side are struggling in attack with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema struggling for goals in La Liga.

Real have scored 10 less goals than second-placed Valencia and 11 goals less than Barcelona in just 12 games and, according to Diario Gol, Perez wants five players to get them back in track

Ahtletic Bilabo’s Kepa Arrizabalaga is his No. 1 keeper target, although David de Gea remains in Real’s sights.

Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos is the man they want to pin their defence together, with bAymeric Laporte, Inigo Martínez and David Alaba also on their radar.

Tottenham and England man Dele Alli is the man they want in midfield and he could replace Ceballos, who only signed in the summer.

In attack Perez has set his sights on Spurs’ Harry Kane and Juventus forward Paulo Dybala.
