The 20-year-old Gateshead-born frontman picked up his fifth booking of the season at Barnsley last Saturday.

However Shola Ameobi, who was rested last weekend, is in contention, along with Marlon Harewood, Peter Lovenkrands and Nile Ranger, for a start up front.

Midfielder Danny Guthrie is available after being sidelined at Oakwell by a knee injury but manager Chris Hughton otherwise has no fresh selection problems.

Long-term absentee Joey Barton remains in the treatment room with the foot problem he suffered against Plymouth in September.

However, the former Manchester City player remains on schedule for a return towards the end of next month.

The match kicks off at 1pm.
