Tottenham have reportedly opened talks with Celta Vigo in a bid to to sign midfielder Pape Cheikh Diop.
The Spain youth international, 20, is a box-to-box midfielder who is said to have been scouted by the club for some time.
Sky Sports claims that Spurs are looking to complete the deal by next week as Mauricio Pochettino eyes his first signing of the summer.
Diop was born in Senegal but raised in Spain and made 19 appearances for Celta Vigo last season, only five of which were starts in La Liga, while he has also won 10 caps for Spain’s Under-19 side.
Spurs also chasing a new right-back, after Kyle Walker’s exit and Kieran Trippier’s short-term injury lay-off, while the club are also on the lookout for a new keeper and striker.
Everton star Ross Barkley remains a top target but the Toffees are so far refusing to budge on their £50million valuation of the England playmaker.
