Tottenham invite Brazilian to training ground as £22m transfer nears

Tottenham have shown Lucas Moura around their training ground as they bid to sign him this month, claims a report.

The Telegraph reports that Spurs are keen on landing the Brazilian winger and PSG are willing to sell Moura for around £22million.

Talks have taken place between Daniel Levy and the player’s representatives after the Ligue 1 giants gave the player permission to travel to England.

The French leaders are understood to be eager to offload players to ease their wage bill and Moura and Javier Pastore are just a couple of the players who could depart the French capital after the big-money arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the summer.

The 25-year-old right-footed forward has not made a start in Ligue 1 this season and is clearly available for transfer and Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be on the lookout for another attacking option.

Moura was an unused sub in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Caen and afterwards he spoke about his dire situation at the French league leaders.

“It’s a brutal blow. I’m gutted that I’m no longer playing, to no longer be able to express myself as I was doing before,” Moura told L’Equipe.

“I’m not happy. I thought I’d built something solid with this club, but that’s clearly not the case.”

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with Moura, who is under contract until June 2019.

Pochettino is also understood to have held talks with Bordeaux over Malcom, but Moura now looks to be their main target.
