Tottenham are ready to make another effort in trying to sign highly-rated 21-year-old Espanyol goalkeeper Pau Lopez, according to reports.
Mauricio Pochettino has already failed with a £3m bid to land the Spain U21 international, but the London Evening Standard believe he is ready to try a new approach to strengthen his goalkeeping options.
Tottenham lost Hugo Lloris for a month after he was forced off in their season opener against Everton with a hamstring injury, and have now reportedly asked to take Lopez on a season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer next summer.
Michel Vorm will deputise in goal for Spurs while Lloris recovers and the Dutchman is ready to take his chance.
“These are the moments that I have to be ready for and I don’t get fazed by it with the experience that I have,” he told Tottenham’s official website.
“You always have to keep in mind that something might happen, it hasn’t in the last few seasons, it did here.
“It always strange when you have to come on in these circumstances, but if you can make an impact in a positive result then happy days!” Vorm added.
