Rafael van der Vaart has recovered from a hamstring injury and is available against Bolton.

Sandro is struggling with a groin problem, but Roman Pavlyuchenko and Giovani Dos Santos are fit after overcoming their respective knee and groin injuries.

Spurs midfielder Steven Pienaar is fit to face Bolton after recovering from the head injury which kept him out of Wednesday’s win at Blackburn.

Gareth Bale (back) is still a week away from full fitness but Tottenham’s defensive ranks have been boosted with the return of captain Michael Dawson from suspension.

Ledley King (groin), Luka Modric (appendix), Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Younes Kaboul (knee) are all unavailable.

On-loan Bolton striker Daniel Sturridge is pushing first-choice pairing Kevin Davies and Johan Elmander for a start.

The Chelsea man scored the only goal of the game against Wolves on debut and could graduate from bench duty.

There are no new injuries for manager Owen Coyle but Jloyd Samuel, Ricardo Gardner, Joey O’Brien and Sean Davis are still short of fitness.
