Totttenham target open to Premier League transfer

Tottenham Hotspur target Adrien Silva has said he would be open to a move to the Premier League.

The Sporting Lisbon midfielder has been linked with Spurs this window with the Portuguese club hoping for around £30million for the 28-year-old.

Portuguese paper Record has stated that Sporting are willing to let their captain depart for less than his €45million release clause after making some key signings already.

Last month reports claimed Spurs had seen a €20million offer rejected by Sporting Lisbon president Bruno de Carvalho.

Silva has been in Russia for the Confederations Cup, but he has told A Bola he is open to a move to the Premier League.

“I was not in touch with anyone during the Confederations Cup. I preferred to focus completely on this event and finish it in the best way,” said Silva, who scored in the 2-1 Confederations Cup third-place play-off win against Mexico.

“The best players are there [in the Premier League], and the English championship is recognised by all as one of the best.

“Let’s just let things run. I have a contract with Sporting, but nothing is certain.”
