Yaya Toure’s dad has pleaded with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola “to come down to earth” and give his son another chance at the Etihad Stadium.
Toure has been frozen out at City following comments made by his agent Dimitri Seluk and has so far made just one first-team appearance this season.
However, the Ivory Coast international’s father, Mory, is asking for former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss Guardiola to forgive his son.
“I’m worried about him. It’s a problem. We ask Guardiola to come down to earth. He’s the boss. I ask him for forgiveness, to let my son do his work,” Toure’s father said.
“Yaya loves the club a lot, he’s a good player for the team. He has the morale to play.
Guardiola on Toure: The day after he (agent) spoke (Toure) he was out. Until he doesn't speak, he is not going to play #mcfc

“I can’t speak in his place. I think he’ll stay. He’s intelligent. He’ll make a good choice after.”
The comments from Seluk were made after Toure was left out of the Citizens’ squad for their Champions League campaign.
The midfielder’s agent said at the time: “It is the decision of Pep and must be respected.
“If Manchester City win the Champions League then I will travel to London and say before the television cameras that Pep Guardiola is the best coach in the world.
“But if City don’t win it, then I hope that Pep has the balls to say he was wrong to humiliate a great player like Yaya Toure.”
