Ezri Konsa: Catching the eye at Charlton

Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all tracking the progress of Charlton’s teenage prospect Ezri Konsa.

Interest is mounting in Konsa after the teenage centre-back broke into Russell Slade’s side this season, with a number of Premier League sides sending scouts to make regular checks on the 18-year-old.

And there is set to be a big battle to land the player when the transfer window reopens in January, according to reports.

Manchester City are also believed to be keen on the player.

The Daily Mirror claims numerous scouts attended Charlton’s 1-1 draw with Oldham on Tuesday to again run the rule over Konsa. He is rated at Charlton as just as big a prospect as Joe Gomez, who joined Liverpool for £3.5m last summer.

Konsa joined Charlton as an under-11 and signed a contract last December that expires in 2019.
