Anthony Martial is set to inform Jose Mourinho he wants to leave Manchester United this summer, according to a report.
The 21-year-old started just 18 Premier Leagues last season and is “unsettled”, according to the Gambling Times.
The report claims Mourinho “would ideally like to keep him” but if a suitable offer is lodged for the forward it’s understood United would not stand in his way.
Martial, who was born in Massy – a southern suburb of Paris – is believed to be keen on a move to Paris Saint-Germain, who, the report claim, are interested.
Atletico Madrid were keen before their transfer ban, whilst Valencia and RB Leipzig are also tracking Martial, while West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham have all been linked with the 15-cap France forward.
Martial joined United in an initial £36million deal, which could rise to over £58million in add-ons, in September 2015 from Monaco, but after a good first season, he has failed to impress Mourinho.
The left-sided forward scored 18 goals in 53 games for United in his first season, before just managing eight goals in 42 games under Mourinho last season.
“So do I think Anthony is a player with great potential? Yes, I think,” said Mourinho in April.
“Do I think he can play successfully for me? Yes, I think. But he needs to give me things that I like very much.”
Martial has struggled to recapture the form he showed after signing for Louis van Gaal, but in February he claimed he was happy at the club.
“I love Manchester, I love the club and I love the fans,” Martial said through a French interpreter.
“(The fans) give me a lot of joy and I really enjoy having them backing me.
“I try to be as good as possible to make them happy, to satisfy them, so what I just want is to stay as long as possible at this club.”
Marrtial’s latest goal for United – the opener against Burnley in April – cost United an extra £8.3m due to a clause triggered once he reached 25 goals for the club.
