Victor Valdes’ agent says the goalkeeper wants to leave Manchester United and secure a move to another Premier League team.
The 33-year-old former Barcelona star signed an 18-month deal at Old Trafford in January this year, but he has managed to make just one senior appearance under Louis van Gaal – on the final day of last season.
Valdes, who reportedly refused to play for the United’s Under-21 side and subsequently fell out with Van Gaal, almost secured a summer move to Besiktas, but the transfer broke down late in the window.
But now Valdes, who was linked with a move to Chelsea, is now keen secure a move away from the club in a bid to play some first-team football.
His agent Gines Carvajal told the Evening Standard: “We are relying on Manchester United letting Victor go.
“The Premier League is very attractive and Valdes want to stay because he has adapted perfectly to England, but we are not closing the door to any options.
“There are still two months until the transfer window opens and there is nothing concrete, but the intention is to leave Manchester United.”
