The 18-year-old has committed his future to the club in a deal which will keep him at Elland Road until at least the end of the 2020-21 season.
Vieira, who has become an integral part of Leeds’ midfield, picked up the Young Player of the Year award after an impressive campaign in West Yorkshire.
The central midfielder, who was born in Guinea-Bissau but raised in Portugal, made a total of 38 appearances in all competitions and scored his first professional goal with a dramatic late winner against Norwich.
The contract extension comes less than 24 hours after Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani completed his takeover at the club from Massimo Cellino and a week after Vieira was called up to the England Under-20 squad for this summer’s Toulon Tournament.
