The moment Manchester United’s team bus came under attack from West Ham fans outside Upton Park is captured via this camera phone footage from Jesse Lingard.
Although the United and England winger seems to be making light of the situation, the seriousness of the attack cannot be underestimated – with West Ham, the FA and the Metropolitan Police all analysing footage from the attack.
United’s coach was late arriving for the Premier League clash – the final game to be played at Upton Park – prompting the kick-off to be delayed by 45 minutes.
The delay was caused by violence on the streets near the stadium with fans hurling cans and bottles at the away team’s bus, causing windows to be smashed.
And this video, posted online by Lingard, shows the reactions of the United squad as the incident took place.
Many of the United players are pictured lying on the floor in the middle of the bus, but Lingard doesn’t appear too concerned as he films himself and jokes to the camera.
