Watford striker Odion Ighalo has been named Premier League Player of the Month for December, while Quique Sanchez Flores has earned the Manager of the Month accolade.
Ighalo netted five goals in January, including a brace against Liverpool, as the Hornets continued to defy expectations in their first season back in the top flight.
Flores’ side won three, drew one and lost one of their five games last month, finishing 2015 in ninth place. A 3-0 win over Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool was the highlight, with other victories coming against Norwich and Sunderland. The Hornets also drew at Chelsea before rounding off the year with an unlucky 2-1 defeat to Tottenham after playing most of the second half with 10 men.
The Watford boss saw off competition from Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, Claudio Ranieri of Leicester and Crystal Palace’s Alan Pardew.
Ighalo, meanwhile, beat Mesut Ozil, Marko Arnautovic, Riyad Mahrez, Romelu Lukaku and Dele Alli to his award.
