Sunderland goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon has joined Premier League rivals Watford on a three-and-a-half year deal.
Pantilimon, who joined Sunderland from Manchester City in 2014, moves to Vicarage Road for an undisclosed fee, where he will compete with Heurelho Gomes to be Quique Sanchez Flores’ number one.
The Romanian international made 49 appearances for the Black Cats, 18 of which were over the first half of the season.
However, the 6ft 8 stopper recently lost his place to England Under-21 international Jordan Pickford, while Sam Allardyce also has Italian Vito Mannone amongst his ranks.
Pantilimon first moved to England when he joined City from Romanian outfit Politehnica Timişoara for a £3million fee, before going on to play 29 times for the North West club.
