Arsene Wenger: Fits the criteria

Arsene Wenger would not entertain questions about the vacant England job after Arsenal strolled to success in the Champions League.

A first-half brace from Theo Walcott ensured the Gunners kept firing on all cylinders after their impressive win against Chelsea last weekend, and Wenger was once again impressed with the high level of football his side showed.

“I am focused 100% on Arsenal and my priority will always be to this club. Nothing will change on that,” Wenger told BT Sport.

“I would say the game was of quality and the win was comfortable. The only regret was that we did not score enough tonight considering what we created. Overall, some excellent football.

“Similarly to Saturday, the first half was good pace and second half was slower.

“The most important thing comes from the player Theo Walcott himself. Top quality people assess performances in an objective way. Then you have to respond to what you see. At the moment, he is doing that well.

“We play Ludogorets twice now and if we come positive out of them, it will depend on our direct result against Paris St-Germain.

“We need to have the desire to improve and not be happy with what you have. You have to have the urgency and focus high. We have not won anything and the target is to get stronger.”
